LC UPC – SC APC Patch Cord for Reliable Fiber Optic Connections
The patch cord, featuring SC to LC connectors, is suitable for deployment in any fiber network.
- The SC connector is designed for connecting GBIC optical modules or common optical fiber transceivers, with a rectangular outer shell and a plug-and-pull fastening method.
- The LC connector, on the other hand, is used for connecting SFP modules and utilizes a modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism for easy operation.
The connectors on the patch lead employ an APC (Angled Physical Contact) polish or UPC (Ultra Physical Contact) polish.
- The UPC end-face is a flat arc surface that ensures close contact, resulting in a return loss of -50dB.
- In contrast, the APC end-face is angled at 8 degrees to minimize reflections, leading to a return loss of -60dB.
