Simplex Fiber Optic Cable

Simplex Fiber Cable

A simplex fiber optic cable consists of one single strand of glass of plastic fiber and one single outer jacket. It is most often used for applications that only require one-way data transfer. Simplex fiber is available in single mode and multimode.

Duplex fiber optic cables consisted of two fibers joined by a thin web. One transmitted from A to B, the other from B to A, with transmitters and receivers at each end.

Simplex Fiber Applications

Since this simplex fiber optic cable only carries one ray of light at a time, itā€™s better for long-distance transmissions. They are designed for production termination where consistency and uniformity are vital for fast and efficient operation.
