SMA Fiber Patch Cord

Unlike ordinary plastic fiber optic connectors, SMA connectors with an all-metal stainless steel body design not only have excellent heat dissipation when transmitting high power light sources, but also provide reliability for stable operation of high power equipment by retaining the matching wire source through the connector’s internal spiral structure. For this reason, SMA connectors with different apertures are designed and developed for pre-terminated power fibers of different core diameters to meet the internal linking needs of different powers such as medical devices, lasers, optical devices and other detection devices.

SMA905 patch cable is mainly composed of SMA connector and special fiber optic cable, which is formed by pre-terminating the connector to the fiber optic cable. After determining the transmission power, fiber core diameter and SMA connector aperture, firstly, the bare multimode fiber without core diameter will be prefabricated into fiber optic cable; then cut the corresponding length of fiber optic cable and assemble the connector bulk according to different connection lengths; then extract the fiber from the cut fiber optic cable, peel off the coating layer, insert the connector filled with high strength glue, and finish the termination of one end of the fiber optic cable and the connector by curing, grinding, and end testing. The fiber is then cured, ground and end tested to complete the termination of one end of the cable to the connector. At the other end of the cable, a complete fiber optic patch cord is pre-terminated by the same operation.

However, just because the entire patch cord is pre-terminated does not mean that the product is ready for use off-line. Next, the end face of the connector of the patch cord will be tested again to see if it is clean, if it can transmit signals through the light, if the loss value meets the required standard, and if the 3D test value meets the mark. When any one of the test data is abnormal, the entire jumper needs to be reworked or even re-produced. Only when all the test parameters meet the required standards will it be arranged for packaging, and the test report of each patch cable will be affixed to the packaging bag one by one to show Bonelinks’ quality assurance of the product.
