OS1 single-mode 8-core MPO to LC breakout cables are designed for interconnecting single-mode equipment in high-density telecom rooms. These cables are important because they need to be easy and reliable to install in tight spaces.

An MPO to LC patch cable typically includes an MPO connector, a single-mode 8-core mini fiber optic cable, a branch sleeve, and a uniboot LC connector. The production process begins by selecting the right length of fiber optic cable based on the number of connections needed. Then, the fiber cores are extracted, stripped of their coating and cladding, and inserted into the MPO connector. The MPO connector is then sealed and finished. At the other end of the cable, the fiber cores are extracted and covered with a protective layer of cable sleeve and aramid yarn. Finally, the pre-terminated uniboot LC connector is attached, completing the production of the breakout cable jumper.

However, just because a patch cord is assembled and produced doesn’t mean it’s ready for use. The connector end face needs to be cleaned and all channels need to pass a light transmission signal test. The attenuation value must also meet required standards. If the test data is abnormal, the patch cord may need to be reworked or even re-produced. When all functional tests are completed, a test report is attached to each patch cord package to show Bonelinks’ quality assurance.
